The project is called A Rough Night.
It's a comedy that revolves around two buddies who has an allergic reaction to weed. They subsequently must run a series of errands that take place within a span of two hours at night in order to quietly get him treatment.
JAIME - Late teens/Early 20's, Hispanic (or can otherwise pass for Hispanic - i.e. tanned skin), messy hair. Eddie's best friend. Jaime is very neurotic and self-conscious but has recently decided he's going to make some changes. Inside, he's very funny but he's prone to blurt his thoughts out in the hope of counteracting his social oddities. In other words, he's shy so he overcompensates by saying what's on his mind. Overanalyzes everything.
Character is in every scene (10 scenes spread across four locations). Auditioning actors will read from the first scene in the film.
DRUG DEALER - Any age over 30, any race or ethnicity considered, exaggerated features a plus (think Jim Carrey's rubber face, Steve Buscemi's big eyes, or Christopher Lloyd's wild hair). Character is eccentric and must display a range of emotions from anger to guilt and to disappointment. Dialogue is John Malkovich-esque.
Character is in two scenes (set only an hour apart, will be shot back-to-back on same night). Actors auditioning will read from a monologue from the script for the character about an accident he caused.
Auditions will be held by appointment August 12-15 in General Classroom Building at Georgia State University (38 Peachtree Center Ave. SE)
