Georgia Film News

According to AMC, since season two of The Walking Dead continues to deliver the strongest telecasts for any drama in basic cable history with Adults 18-49, shattering a basic cable record set nearly 10 years ago for a single drama telecast (The Dead Zone), they have renewed the hit zombie series for a third season. According to USA Today, the second season premiere averaged 7.3 million total viewers, an increase of approximately 38 % from season one's premiere. That means 7.3 million people saw onetime S&S columnist Chaz Lounge as a zombie taking an arrow through his skull and then having his guts chopped up! Awesomeness! The show continues filming the second season in Georgia through November 7th, including a scene shot at Luther Bailey Road and Old Ga. Highway 85 in Senoia in late October.
The Denzel Washington flick Flight continues shooting around the state through December 8th.  A church was recently constructed by film crews for a scene at Green Valley Farms off Highway 278 in Newton County. According to rockdalenews.com, the scene will involve a plane, flown by Washington's character, knocking off the church's steeple. Off-set, Denzel has been spotted at the Whole Foods at Emory and he made a stop at Frank Ski's (the restaurant owned by V 103's morning man). According to TMZ.com, Washington,  "sporting his finest Nike tracksuit and New Balance sneakers," recently made a stop at Atlanta's Reign nightclub. The site says that although he "didn't drink a drop according to club sources, the actor picked up a $5,000 tab for his pals – who put down five bottles of Ciroc vodka, five bottles of Don Julio, and five bottles of Moët Rosé." The cast also includes John Goodman, Don Cheadle, Melissa Leo and Kelly Reilly.
