With her parents and younger siblings living in a refugee camp in Kenya, 20 year-old Ndizeye struggles to support not only herself, but provide for a family she’s not seen in five years. Living in a small southern town, her struggle becomes so much more when her family literally shows up at her doorstep.

SHOOT DETAILS
This is a film directed by an MFA Directing student at UCLA.

The crew is compromised of other MFA students from UCLA.

Compensation will be a copy of the film, credit on the film and meals.

The shoot is scheduled for August 2nd-8th.

Actor needs to be able to speak with a noticeable accent. The family is East African (Somali).

DANAI Quiet man. Attentive and caring with his daughters, but conservative in his views. He's worn out, after so many years on the move and in refugee camps. Struggles to protect his family and provide for them. Actor needs to be able to speak with a noticeable accent. Family is East African (Somali).

FAHKTA Outgoing and loving mother. Attentive wife. There's a noticeable difference in age between her husband, Danai and Fahkta. Actor needs to be able to speak with a noticeable accent. Family is East African (Somali).

SABERA Very expressive looking child. Attentive and always observing the world around her. This role has vary little dialogue but pivotal in creating an overall feel for the family.

KANYONI Very expressive looking child. Shy. Always hiding behind her father. This role has no dialogue but pivotal in creating an overall feel for the family.

TANU Debonair. Exudes confidence and dresses to impress. Large personality. He knows everyone in the community. People know him and notice him. Actor needs to be able to speak with a noticeable accent. Can be of either East or West African.

KAREN Plain Jane. Sweet. Do Gooder. Enthusiastic, but slowly losing her optimistic view of the work she does in the refugee community. Actor needs to be able to speak with a noticeable Southern accent.
