Coming to film in Atlanta later this summer : Dumb and Dumber Toooooo. Directed by Peter and Bobby Farrelly, with Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels set to reprise
their roles as Lloyd Christmas and Harry Dunne. This will be the first time the
Farrellys have made a sequel to one of their pictures. It should be noted that
neither the Farrellys nor Carrey and Daniels had anything to do with the
terrible 2003 prequel Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd. Stars who are rumored to have already
signed on with Carry and Daniels are Sofia
Vergara, Christopher Walken, and
Jack Black.
Adam Sandler and
Drew Barrymore are
at it again, this time in the film Blended.
Set to start filming around the
Lake Lanier area in mid-July. Frank
Coraci (Zookeeper, The Waterboy, The
Wedding Singer) is directing the romantic comedy, with Warner Bros.
co-producing with Sandler’s Happy Madison Productions. Rob
Schneider, Paul Reubens, and Bob Sapp are rumored to be signed on
for the film.
Killing Season,
starring Robert De Niro and John Travolta, opens in
theaters on July 12th. It shot during the winter of 2012 in the
north Georgia mountains, including Tallulah Gorge State Park and Black Rock
Mountain State Park.
The Originals, the
Vampire Diaries spinoff, is shooting
primarily in the Atlanta area. Filming
is expected to last throughout the summer, with the show, starring Joseph Morgan and Phoebe Tonkin as young
hybrid-vampires, set to premiere in October on the CW network, airing on
Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET.
Mockingjay,
the two-part finale to the Hunger Games
trilogy, is set to start filming in the Atlanta area in late August.
ThunderCats the movie is rumored to be looking at Atlanta as
its shooting location. Stars that are rumored for roles already are Zack Efron (Lion-O), Christian
Bale (Mumm-Ra), and Dwayne “the Rock”
Johnson (Panthro). Emmanuelle
Chriqui who is the voice of Cheetara in the animated ThunderCats TV series is
also slated to play Cheetara in the film.
