Hot Like Lava
(Cru Jones & Shaun Banks) interview at ringside. Jones earned the
title shot of his choosing by winning a rumble match at the September 22
taping, and he wanted RPW Heavyweight Champion Luke Gallows, deeming
Gallows as too ugly to be champion. Jones said Banks would check Cash.
He said Banks didn’t need a jock strap because his privates were padded
with one dollar bills. Per Jones, Hot Like Lava = undergarments coming
down and pregnancy rates go up.
(7) Cru Jones
(with Shaun Banks) defeated Bobby Moore (with Charlie Cash) in 6:35.
Jones ducked the loaded elbow pad and rolled Moore up for the pin. Jones
has elevated his game of late.
Dan announced
that RPW was partnered up with TNA for their show in Macon on October
20, including a special RPW feature contest – Hot Like Lava vs. Mike
Posey & Corey Hollis.
(12) Murder One
& J Rod & Vordell Walker defeated AJ Steele & Micah Taylor
& Shaun Banks (replacing Doc Gayton) via DQ in 15 minutes. Walker, a
babyface in his previous stints at RPW, returned as the heel mystery
partner. Before the match got underway, Commissioner Ben said that in
order to ensure that the cage match would take place and that Doc would
be able to perform his surgical duties next week, he could not allow Doc
to wrestle the match. The logic of this was lost on me. The crowd
loudly expressed their dissatisfaction.. Doc’s reaction was predictably
nutty, but Ben’s ruling stood. Ben introduced Banks as Doc’s
replacement. Micah is now sporting an iridescent pink streak in his
hair. Micah and Walker had quite the spirited opening exchange. Awesome
stuff. J Rod did some hilarious selling for Banks. Steele got a small
piece of Murder One before the heels got heat on Micah. When Banks got
the hot tag, the match broke down to six way chaos. J Rod got his lip
split open by a kick from Banks. Doc hit the ring and smashed J Rod in
the head with a chair. Thank God he got his hands up.
